The Café du Jour Indonesia (Mandheling) Sumatra Raja Gayo coffee is carefully farmed in the center of the province Ateh on the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. The coffee is farmed at an height of between 1100 and 1600 meter

Café du Jour Indonesia (Mandheling) Sumatra Raja Gayo coffee is farmed very carefully in the central area of the province Atjeh on the island of Sumatra in Indonesia at heights between 1100 and 1600 meter. The coffee is farmed by different small farmers that all have about one acre of land that produces about 700-1000kg of coffee a year. The average temperature of about 20 degrees celcius, the large amount of rainfall and the fertile ground makes this region an heaven for agriculture. The coffee farms are the main source of income. Next to coffee the region is also home to tabacco, sugarcane, tea and many more farms.
For this coffee only the best of the red, ripe coffee berry's are handpicked to ensure the best quality, taste and aroma. After picking the berries they are immediatly peeled spread out and layed to dry. After the drying process the beans are transported to one of the corporations where they will be processed further and made ready for export.

The coffee beans of Café du jour's own brand are roasted in small batches by a specialist roast master. The beans are stocked and roasted weekly, so the roasting date is always recent. The roasting date is always stated on the coffee label.
Resealable Coffee packaging.
Whether you decide to buy 250 grams, 500 grams or a kilo coffee beans the packaging will always be resealable. The coffee packaging is provided with a special resealable edge so the packaging is always closed airtight. On the front of the bag is fitted with a filter so air and other gasses can escape the bag without letting air in. This is how we make sure everything is done to save the freshness of your coffee!
