Can I choose which Illy varieties I receive in the package?
Yes, with this mixed Illy package you can choose which 6 tins of 250 grams you would like to receive. You can select from all available Illy varieties, including Classico, Intenso, the Arabica Selection coffees (Brazil, Ethiopia, Guatemala) and Decaf. This way you can alternate or immediately choose your favourite flavours.
Can I also include decaffeinated coffee beans in my mixed package?
Yes, you can simply add the Illy Decaf (caffeine-free beans) as one of the six choices to your package. This way, you can enjoy the original Illy blend, but without the caffeine.
Are the flavours in the package suitable for variety, or are they similar?
Because you can choose from various Illy varieties, you can fully alternate between different flavour aromas, ranging from floral and fresh to strong and intense. This makes the package ideal for enthusiasts who like to vary or who are not yet sure which Illy they prefer.
Are the illy Decaf beans dark roasted?
The illy Decaf coffee beans have an intensity of 7 and are relatively strong in flavour. They have a medium to dark roast, which gives them a distinctive Italian character. Some customers indicate that the roast can be slightly darker than with other coffee brands – ideal for those who enjoy a rich, full-bodied espresso.
From which region and from which plants do the leaves of this white tea originate?
This Bai Mudan comes from Oothu in Southwest India and consists of large tea leaves with many young, unopened leaf buds. The plants are minimally and mainly hand-processed, which ensures an authentic and pure white tea flavour.
Is the taste of this decaf really comparable to regular (caffeinated) coffee?
Yes, these illy Decaf beans are specially selected and blended to retain the distinctive illy flavour, even with a strongly reduced caffeine content. Customers indicate that the taste is 'just as delicious' as the non-decaffeinated variant and that you make no compromises on aroma and experience.
What is the main flavour characteristic of this Jasmine green tea?
This tea offers a unique interplay of jasmine blossom and green tea, which makes it known for its floral aroma and mild yet full flavour. This is experienced as very pleasant, as is also evident from customer reviews.
How is the jasmine flavour in this green tea achieved?
We scent this green tea in an artisanal way twice with fresh jasmine blossom during the production process. This gives the tea a natural floral fragrance and a full, mild aroma without the addition of artificial flavourings.
Which ingredients are exactly in the Passionnel green tea?
Our Passionnel loose green tea contains, among other ingredients, green tea (from China), Earl Grey, rose petals, mistletoe and goji berries. This unique blend creates an aromatic and fresh-floral tea with a subtle, gentle flavour.
How are the beans packaged and how long do they stay fresh?
The illy Decaf coffee beans are packed airtight in an iconic illy tin, allowing the beans to retain their freshness and aroma for a long time. This also makes them suitable for longer storage without loss of quality.
How many coffee beans can I roast at once with the Gene Café CBR101 coffee roaster?
With the Gene Café CBR101 coffee roaster, you can roast between 50 and 250 grams of green coffee beans at a time. We recommend using 200 grams each time for the most consistent result. Fewer beans will shorten the roasting time, while more beans will lengthen it – keep this in mind if you want to maintain a fixed roasting profile.
How do I clean and maintain the Gene Café CBR101 for long-term use?
After each roast, we recommend removing the loose chaff from the roaster. Every 20 roasts, take out the chaff collector and clean it with warm water. Allow it to dry thoroughly before placing it back. Any greasiness usually does not affect the quality of the roast, but in case of severe contamination, cleaning is important for safety.
Do I need to supervise the Gene Café CBR101 during the roasting process?
Yes, we recommend always using the coffee roaster under supervision. It is important to be present during roasting, both for safety reasons (fire hazard) and to hear crucial moments, such as the first and second ‘crack’ of your coffee beans. This way, you have full control over the roasting process and achieve the best result.
How can I best prepare this loose tea for the best result?
We recommend using one teaspoon (approx. 2 grams) of Passionnel per cup and water at around 80°C. Allow the tea to steep for 2 to 3 minutes for a fresh and delicate flavour. If you prefer a more intense taste, let the tea steep a little longer.
Which flavour notes are most present in the Inspiración green tea?
Our Inspiración green tea has a soft, full flavour thanks to a blend of spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and especially ginger. The ginger is clearly noticeable and provides a warming effect. The tea is experienced as not bitter and wonderfully fragrant.
