A clip for opened coffee and tea bags

Once a bag of coffee is open, the only thing keeping the air out is how well the top is folded — and a folded top does not stay folded on its own. The JoeFrex coffee bag sealer is the plain answer to that: a stainless steel clip, finished in black, that clamps across the fold and stays there.

At 10 cm wide it covers the full top of a 250 g bag in one go, and it holds the creased-over top of a 1 kg bag of coffee beans just as well. The same goes for tea: a pouch of loose-leaf tea, a bag of ground coffee, anything with a top you can fold twice.

Using it

Press the air out, fold the top down two or three times, and push the clip over the fold. To open the bag, slide the clip off; to close it again, put it back. Nothing wears out and nothing gets used up, so one clip sees out a bag and then moves on to the next one.

It comes as a single clip rather than a pair, and there is no mechanism to it — nothing to break, nothing to lose. The steel body wipes clean when coffee oils or tea dust get on it, and at 5.5 cm high it is shallow enough to leave clipped to the bag in the cupboard.
