A milder take on Neapolitan espresso
Top Flavour stands out in the Kimbo range. Where many Neapolitan blends are bold and dark-roasted, Kimbo takes a milder route here: 100% Arabica beans from Central America with a medium roast. That gives more nuance, a softer mouthfeel and a pleasant balance between sweetness and light freshness.
In the cup
As an espresso it is rounded and aromatic, with subtle nutty notes and a slightly sweet finish. There is enough body to keep its character, yet it drinks smoothly, so it is easy to have several cups through the day.
In a cappuccino or other milky coffee, the light sweetness sits well with the milk and the coffee stays clearly present. You get a creamy, easy-going cup.
Brewing it
These are whole beans, so use a bean-to-cup machine or grind them yourself. For espresso and cappuccino, grind fine and grind fresh for each shot to get a full crema. For filter coffee, set the grinder to medium. The nutty, lightly sweet character comes through in a filter cup too, just lighter in body than as an espresso.
