What Puly Grind is for

Coffee beans are oily, and the oil transfers to whatever they sit against. In a hopper or bean container it builds up as a sticky film on the walls, and because it sits there in the warm it eventually goes stale. The beans you tip in on top pick that taint up before they ever reach the burrs, which is the usual reason a grinder starts turning out flat coffee while the beans themselves are perfectly fresh. Puly Grind is a spray made to shift that film.

How to use it

Empty the hopper, spray Puly Grind onto a cloth rather than straight into the container, and wipe the inside surfaces until they come clean. Repeat if the build-up is heavy. There is no rinsing step, so you need no water at the sink and there is nothing to dry before the beans go back in. Spraying the cloth instead of the machine also keeps the liquid where you want it and away from the burrs and the electrics.

Where it can be used

It is meant for the hopper, bean container and dosing unit of a grinder or coffee machine, and it is safe on stainless steel and chrome, so the same cloth will take fingerprints off the outside of the housing as well. Worth keeping alongside the rest of your coffee equipment cleaning kit.
