Puly Grind is a granulated cleaner for the burrs and hopper of a coffee grinder, made in Italy by Asachimici and packed as ten paper bags of 15 g. The granules are plant-based, food-safe and free from gluten, and they suit a standalone grinder or the grinder inside a bean-to-cup machine, flat burr or conical. One bag does a full clean: run it through, then grind a little coffee and throw that first grind away.

What Puly Grind does

Ground coffee leaves oil behind. It builds up on the burrs, in the hopper and in the chute, and as it ages it goes rancid, which is why a grinder that has not been cleaned in months starts making stale-tasting coffee out of perfectly good beans. Puly Grind is a coffee grinder cleaner that deals with that residue without taking the machine apart: plant-based granules that run through the burrs the way beans do, lift the oil off and carry it out with them.

How to use it

Empty one 15 g bag into the bean hopper.
Run the grinder until all the granules have passed through. On a fully automatic machine, set it to grind two cups.
Grind a small dose of coffee afterwards and discard it, so nothing is left sitting in the chute.

It suits a standalone grinder and the grinder built into a bean-to-cup machine, and it works on flat and conical burrs alike. Ten bags in the box, so there is one ready each time rather than a tub to measure out.
