FAQ
Customer Questions
What does Segafredo Selezione 100% Arabica taste like and which coffee is it comparable to?

This Segafredo Selezione is a 100% Arabica blend with a fruity and floral aroma, a chocolatey taste and a nutty aftertaste. The beans are medium roasted and give an intensity that we describe as normal, with a velvety smooth crema in the Italian style.

A customer asked us whether these beans are similar to a mild arabica from Central or South America that he was used to. That is correct: the beans come from that region, which makes the coffee rounded and smooth instead of sharp or smoky.

Are Segafredo Selezione 100% Arabica coffee beans suitable for a bean to cup machine?

Yes. These are whole coffee beans that you grind yourself, so you can simply put them in the bean hopper of your bean to cup machine. The beans are medium roasted and consist entirely of Arabica, which means they have less oil on the outside than dark roasted espresso beans.

That oil is exactly what owners of a bean to cup machine need to watch out for, because oily beans soil the grinder more quickly. According to the product details these beans are suitable for espresso, filter coffee and cappuccino.

How many cups of coffee do you get from 250 grams of Segafredo Selezione 100% Arabica?

This pack contains 250 grams of whole coffee beans. For filter coffee you count on about 5 to 8 grams per cup, which comes to roughly 30 to 50 cups per pack.

If you make espresso, you use about 16 to 20 grams for a double, which works out at some 12 to 15 double espressos. Please note: these are beans and not ground coffee.

Where do the beans of Segafredo Selezione 100% Arabica come from?

The Arabica beans come from Central and South America. Our product details list Brazil and Colombia as the countries of origin.

Segafredo is an Italian coffee brand and this coffee is produced in Italy. There is no organic certification linked to this product.

What is the best way to store Segafredo Selezione 100% Arabica coffee beans?

Store the beans cool, dark and well sealed, for example in the original packaging or in an airtight tin. Do not put them in the fridge, because coffee beans absorb moisture and smells there.

Unopened, a pack of coffee beans stays good for about a year, although coffee tastes best within a few months. Once you have opened the 250 gram pack, use it up within a few weeks for the best flavour.
