What is inside is proper coffee rather than a novelty gift: whole beans, roasted fresh, ready for a grinder or a bean-to-cup machine. A present that gets used up and enjoyed.

Custom coffee with your own photo on the bag

This is custom coffee in the most literal sense. You supply the photo, we put it on the label of a 250 g bag of freshly roasted Café du Jour coffee. A wedding picture, a shot of the whole team, a holiday snap, the dog asleep on the sofa: whatever you pick ends up on the front of the pack.

A message on the back

On the back there is room for a personal message, printed above the coffee information. Prefer not to add one? Leave the field empty and the back shows only the required product details, the roast date and the taste profile.

What is in the bag

The coffee itself is the point, not the wrapping. Inside is our Espresso Madrugador, roasted fresh rather than sitting in a warehouse, and it sits at 9 out of 13 on our strength scale: full-bodied, with enough behind it to stand up as a short black and to carry through milk in a cappuccino or a latte. Choose whole beans, or have us grind it fresh for a bean-to-cup machine, an espresso machine or a cafetière, whichever one the person you are giving it to actually uses.

A gift that gets used

Mugs, novelty tins and desk gadgets tend to end up at the back of a press. A bag of good coffee with a familiar face on it gets opened the next morning. It works as a thank-you for a colleague, a wedding favour, or a present for the person who already owns every piece of coffee kit going, and 250 g is a sensible size, big enough to be worth having and small enough to stay fresh while it is drunk.

Tips for your design

The label is 100 mm wide and 149 mm high. A JPG or PNG of at least 1200 x 1800 pixels (300 dpi) works best. A PDF is fine too; we print the first page.

What is the roast date?

The roast date of Café du Jour's coffee beans is usually a maximum of four weeks before dispatch. This means that the coffee beans are generally no older than four weeks when they arrive at your door.

Many people ask if coffee beans are already too old after three weeks. The answer to that is: no. Freshly roasted coffee actually reaches its best flavour after a few weeks. During roasting, carbon dioxide (CO₂) is created inside the coffee beans, which can mask the taste at first. That is why coffee is at its best between one and four weeks after roasting.

After roasting, the beans are immediately packed in special coffee bags with a one-way valve. This valve allows CO₂ to escape without letting oxygen in, so the aromas are preserved and the coffee remains fresh. This way, you can count on an optimally fresh product with a full flavour!

For which brewing methods are these coffee beans most suitable?

The Madrugador espresso blend has been specially developed for espresso machines, but the beans are also perfectly suitable for use in fully automatic machines, moka pots or cafetières. Thanks to their strong flavour, they are particularly well suited for espressos and cappuccinos.

What kind of coffee is in this personalised packaging and what does it taste like?

This package contains our own blend, the Café du Jour Espresso Madrugador. This medium-roasted coffee is strong and powerful (intensity 9 out of 13), with a slightly fruity flavour and a pronounced, spicy and bold kick. Perfect if you like a strong espresso or cappuccino.

How do I upload a photo or design for the personalised label?

During the ordering process, you can upload your photo or your own design directly. We recommend providing the largest and sharpest image file possible, preferably a PDF of at least 300 dpi with dimensions of 100 mm wide x 149 mm high. This gives the best result on the label.

Can I add my own message to the back of the pack?

Yes, on the back of this coffee package you can add a personal message when ordering. This will be placed above the coffee information on the back of the pack. If you do not wish to add a message, simply leave this field empty and you will receive only the mandatory product information.
