Café du Jour Descaler - Descaling Powder - 1 x 50 g

One sachet, one descale

This is a single 50 g sachet of Café du Jour descaling powder: the dose for one descaling cycle, with nothing to measure out and nothing left over to store. It is the trial portion of our coffee machine maintenance range, and it does the same job as the spare you keep behind for the day the machine asks for a descale.

How to use it

Dissolve the entire contents of the sachet in water and pour the solution into the water tank. Run your machine's own descaling programme if it has one; if it does not, let the solution stand in the machine for a while as the manual for your appliance describes, then run it through. Rinse thoroughly with clean water afterwards, a couple of tank fills, so that nothing of the solution carries over into the next cup.

What it works on

Filter coffee machines, bean-to-cup machines and espresso machines, and kettles as well. How often a machine needs doing depends on how hard your water is and on how much you brew, so go by the descaling light or the interval in your own manual rather than a fixed date. Kept in the drawer with the rest of your coffee equipment, a sachet tends to get used sooner than you expect.
