FAQ
Customer Questions
How long does the Costa Coffee Colombian Roast keep and how do I store the beans?

The date on the packaging is a best before date, not a use by date. After that date the coffee is not unusable, but it gradually becomes less aromatic.

Store the bag cool, dry and well sealed, and not in the fridge. That is how coffee beans hold on to their quality best. If you have several bags that you are not going to open for a while, you can also freeze them.

Do I get whole beans or ground coffee with the Costa Coffee Colombian Roast?

You receive whole coffee beans in a 500 gram pack.

If you want to make filter coffee or use a cafetière, grind the beans yourself. Use a filter grind for a pour over filter, coarser for a cafetière and a fine grind for an espresso machine.

What does the Costa Coffee Colombian Roast taste like?

The Colombian Roast is a dark roast from Colombia. That dark roasting brings out the caramel aroma nicely, both in espresso and in milk-based coffee.

If you drink the coffee black, you will taste notes of honey, red fruit and orange.

Which coffee machine is the Costa Coffee Colombian Roast suitable for?

These are whole beans, so you can use them directly in a bean to cup machine or in a separate coffee grinder. The dark roast comes into its own above all in espresso and in milk-based coffee such as cappuccino and latte.

For a double espresso, allow around 16 to 20 grams of ground coffee. If you find the result too bitter, use a slightly coarser grind size or let the espresso run for a shorter time.
